Program: 30-day Pottery Making in Seto – With Guidance

I had a wonderful time in Seto! I enjoyed my time here and learning a lot from Sensei. Things I’ve learned: throwing off the hump, spiral wedging, traditional Japanese drawing, mold making, making metal trimming tools, and making dragonfly measurement tools. He arranged a Nerikomi and icchin technique design workshop for us as well. You will also see how he manages his studio process from start to end.
The train station is 10-15mins bus ride away from the studio. There is a pottery tool shop and a glaze shop both walkable distance from the station. Setogura museums is also a nice place to visit with a lovely restaurant. On my off days, I visited Nagoya castle and Osu shopping street, Tajimi’s ceramic park Mino and Hommachi oribe street, and Tokoname’s pottery footpath!
I have gained confidence in my pottery skills. I am very happy to have Sensei as a teacher and would visit him again! The experience is invaluable and I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to further their pottery knowledge and skills!
