Program: 21-day Pottery Making in Seto – With Guidance

I loved my 21 day stay in Seto and learning from sensei. I came in as a beginner potter and I was able to learn so much from sensei.
I learned how to throw clockwise, throw off the hump, how to make metal trimming tools, painting, about traditional glazes, slab making, and much more. This experience was truly invaluable. Sensei is a full time potter, making orders for his own shop but is always very kind and helpful, making time for us whenever we had a question.
The town of Seto is also very charming and I would often go to downtown area during my free time. There are many restaurants and sweet shops that were delicious. I recommend this program to everyone who has an interest in furthering their skills or learning from a master potter (he’s the 12th generation in his family). He also has a very cute senior dog that we’d walk in the afternoon! Which was a really great way to explore the area and take a break. I will never forget this experience and would love to come back and join the program again.
