Program: 24-day Pottery Making in Seto – With Guidance
Start date: 4th December 2024
Message:
I spent three enriching weeks at a pottery workshop, and the experience was truly rewarding.
The sensei was really generous in sharing his knowledge and expertise, offering thoughtful and constructive advice throughout the course.
I felt just as supported by him as I did by his interns, Amber and Hitomi, who were always available to guide me.
One of the challenges I faced was adapting to the wheel turning in a clockwise direction.
I also had to learn how to lift pieces from a hump of clay, but despite these challenges, I was able to rise to the occasion and improve over time.
Additionally, I learned the valuable skill of making my own tools, which is an essential aspect of the craft.
Despite the sensei’s busy schedule, he always made time to offer personal guidance and support, which I truly appreciated.
The accommodation was comfortable, and while the studio was somewhat distant, it was easily accessible by public transport.
Overall, I am deeply grateful for the experience.
